I love the Dingle Peninsula because it has the perfect mix of rural, small village and town. In 5 minutes you can be from ocean shore to mountain pass. In the spring when I go the lambs and seal pups have just been born. You can interact with the people who live there and avoid the tourists. The historic sites span at least 9,000 years. You can walk the mountains. The musicians, artists and everyone are authentic, gifted, very welcoming and love to talk. National Geographic said the Dingle Peninsula was one of the top ten most beautiful places on earth. The food and drink are gorgeous. Most important, as an artist I am endlessly inspired by it all. It has made me the artist I am.
I usually fly into Shannon airport, spend the day at Bunratty Folk Park, get a good nights sleep and then drive the next day to Dingle via the “Wild Atlantic Way”.

I recommend that students stay at Benner’s Hotel in Dingle. It is centrally located with walking distance to all of the pubs and nightly music sessions. The food is excellent. They have a nice pub onsite. It is surprisingly quiet for sleeping despite being in the center of town. They are attentive to their guest’s needs. Lovely staff. They have parking on site.
You may want to add extra days to enjoy the Feile Na Bealtaine spring festival. It celebrates music, art, theatre, writing, parade and history. Here is the link http://feilenabealtaine.ie/home/
Each day of class you can easily drive to my cottage. On the first day I usually come and collect you or lead you to the cottage. I provide lunch or we go to a local pub. We Paint Plein Aire as much as possible using ocean water and Irish air at Remote rural sites. If the weather is bad we Paint in the studio at my cottage. Class runs 10-4 each day.
You may work in acrylics or watercolor or mix them. I teach “Painting the Iconic Landscape” in realism or full abstract mode.
So - choose the number of days you wish. I recommend at least 3 days. The dates for 2018 are on my website in the Art Instruction area. Look for my Independent Traveler Workshops - here is the link - http://www.kathleenmooney.com/Instruction.html
Let me know so I can reserve your spot in the workshop. I look forward to sharing the magic and beauty of Dingle with you!
